Having worked on this one in 2014, we took on an expanded role this year so as to reduce the amount of time the Chamber of Commerce had to spend on the event.
The 'Malahide Has It' Festival is a two-day annual festival in Malahide that involves a family fun element during the day on the green and then the Main Street plays host to a large stage and band line-up at night.
There is a lot of buy-in locally as it's organised by the local Chamber of Commerce. The main local publicans are involved as well as some other key business people in Malahide.
We spend a lot of time planning this one and liaising with all the stakeholders involved, coordinating all the elements to ensure the 2 days are enjoyable for all concerned.
This was our 2nd year working with the Malahide Chamber of Commerce on this event.
We took on more responsibility this year and provided a full service, working and advising on all elements of the event. It was a great few days with a lot of fun had by the people of Malahide and beyond and we really enjoyed working on it.
We're very familiar with Malahide, having worked on loads of events there over the years.
We enjoy putting on good events there, especially family fun festivals like 'Malahide Has It'.
With this gig being driven by the local Chamber of Commerce, there's a lot of buy-in from the local community. It really feels like a community festival, both the daytime family fun and the evening time live music element of it.
Coordinating and managing the food vendors can be slightly challenging with this one, to a degree. All are local and some are inexperienced in outdoor catering operations.
Working with the local businesses to provide the food element of this event is a key focus of the event.
With most vendors coming back year-on-year, the level of understanding and knowledge of the Health & Safety requirements etc. is growing, which is great.
'For a volunteer organisation like ours, Cuckoo Events’ experience, professionalism and commitment to ensuring a vibrant and safe event were vital to our festival's success.
We would highly recommend Mags and the Cuckoo team to coordinate and run any event, big or small.'
